An interesting blog post. But a bit skewed. Wanting to bring back hand coloring is great. It's a wonderful artform. But to say that the "sole purpose of making Photographs are to record and document historical events," is untrue and borders on the ridiculous. There are all kinds of people making photographs for all kinds of reasons. They're all legitimate and all should be encouraged. The value of art should be in its content not in its longevity. Archival qualities are definitely important. But they shouldn't be how art is judged. Content is always king in my book. And some people use computers to create it. That doesn't make it any less powerful or ultimately valuable. |
